A member asked:

How is it possible my tsh can be elevated and my t3 (liothyronine) be high normal and t4 be normal? i've been taking 25mcg bid t3 (liothyronine) (l-thyronine).

See endocrinologist: When you are taking t3 (liothyronine), (liothyronine) your T3 (liothyronine) level will be related to when you last took the medication. If the blood test is drawn within a few hrs of taking it, the level will be higher. People on T3 (liothyronine) have low T4 levels, since T3 (liothyronine) does not convert to t4. The TSH is the best indicator of your thyroid level. If it is high, it means you are not on enough thyroid hormone replacement. Most people take T4 not t3 (liothyronine).
