Perhaps the opposite: Perhaps your colon is so large and long because you have been constipated. Lots of water, bulk in your stool (raw fruits and veggies) high fiber and exercise are the tools for improving/resolving constipation.

Chicken or the egg: The term "redundant colon" describes a large intestine (colon) that is longer than normal and as a result has repetitive, overlapping loops.Sometimes the colon starts to be redundant and long from early childhood. Sometimes the colon will become redundant and dilated with accomodate of large amount of retained feces in association with constipation.
