No: Febrile seizures can occur in some children under the age of 5 (usually go away by that age). When ill tylenol (acetaminophen) and advil may help keep the fever down, to help prevent a seizure. Although a seizure can happen with any increase in temp above 101. It is not due to how high, experts think it is due to how quickly the temp changes in children vunerable to febrile seizures.

Cure for febrile sz: For most people, febrile seizure occurs once or twice. Aging will lead to this condition disappearing, there is no treatment needed in these cases. In rare cases, normally for situations when febrile seizures occur more than two times, or if the EEG is abnormal, medicine may be used to prevent seizures.

No cure, prevention: No cure but prevention, using fever control as soon as a child who has had a febrile seizure previously appears ill or begins having a fever. There is some date indicating high blood levels of phenobarbital may prevent them. Rectal valium as soon as a child appears ill or has a fever may prevent the next febrile seizure. Speak to your pediatrician about this.
