Religious practices.: Many religions & cultures look on menstruating women as impure. Judaism, islam, orthodox & dharmic religions have traditionally held policies regarding women during menstruation. Women are often forbidden entry to temples, to engage in sexual intercourse & in some cases to touch family members or belongings within the home. Brahmin hindus may bar women from domestic activities for 4 days. Nepali.
