Yes: Angina represents decreased blood flow to the heart, this can lead to heart muscle death (a heart attack) if blood flow is not promptly restored. Someone having cardiac angina should have an evaluation of their coronary arteries as soon as possible and be placed on meds that decrease the work of the heart (often beta blockers) and prevent clotting (like aspirin). Usually a catheterization dpne.

Usually a warning: Angina pectoris =substernal pressure, pain with radiation to the neck or left or right arm and shoulder. Some will have abdominal pain-and be confused with gallbladder or stomach symptoms. Ladies seem to have less classic// or tolerate pain better than men. Relief with Nitroglycerin is very suggestive. A feeling of impending doom, pallor, sweating suggest a bad day! heart attack s life threatening.

Angina: Angina means chest pain with exertion. Stable angina is not a life threatning. Most of the times it can be managed medically. If symptoms are becoming more frequent and longer in duration then at that time you may need to have an angiogram.
