Depends: Depending on how long it's been from the incision/surgery and where it is located, relief can come from many forms. If it's itchyness, taking Benadryl (diphenhydramine) may have relief redness and itchyness. Also using compressed air (alerting your doctor first) to the area to cool it down (like cold compresses) may help relieve pain. However it does depend on duration of stitches and placement.
