Yes but treatable: I perform laser tattoo removal on a daily basis. If I simply use the laser on the tattoo the pain is describes as rubber bands snapping on the skin hard or the sting of bacon grease hitting your hand. THe use of topical anesthetics help, the use of a chiller helps as well as ice packs. I often use Lidocaine injections if the tattoo is not to large which basically removes all the pain.
