Hematomas resolve: Alternating heat and cold therapy helps break up clot and helps the body dissolve the blood. Reabsorption will just take time. If the area is painful or otherwise bothersome, like it interferes with daily activity, it may need to be aspirated or drained. Redness and swelling may occur if it becomes infected. Infection can be started just by sticking a needle into it, so, if no symptoms - wait.
