Stretching: It is certainly important to stretch and perform "warm-up" exercises before any physical activity. That would help decrease the chances of getting a strain or tendon injury. As we age, it is important to rest and take any rx'd meds to decrease inflammation before returning to moderate activity, to allow the best healing possible in the most efficient time frame, hope this helps.
