Cervix: The cervix will thin out and dilate as you progress through labor. Having an "unfavorable cervix" means you probably aren't dilated very much and your cervix hasn't started to thin out (efface). Give it time, your OB will monitor your cervical change as you get closer to your due date or if you start having regular contractions.
