PCOS: Pcos is diagnosed based on something called the rotterdam criteria. This takes into account your menstrual cycles, exam findings, and ultrasound and lab findings. You need 2 of the 3 criteria so your doctor is probably basing it on your menstrual cycle history and your exam. Lab tests can be helpful to investigate the endocrine abnormalities that can accompany pcos, such as Insulin resistance.
