A member asked:

Hi i have pin pain in my upper abdominal area and was wondering if it has to do with pancreatic cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: Pancreatic cancer often occurs in our late 50's and older. If the head of the pancreas is involved, the liver can be blocked and jaundice occurs. Otherwise it is usually without symptoms except weight loss and vague pain. Sharp pin point pain in younger folks is often due to more benign conditions (gallbladder issues, hernias, stomach conditions). See your primary care doctor for advice.
