Chronic cough: The most common reasons for chronic cough (longer than 4-6 weeks) is asthma, post nasal drip from allergies or sinus infections and ge (acid) reflux. Less common diagnoses are other infections, heart problems, etc. A lung specialist (allergist or pulmonologist) will be able to identify the cause of the cough with a few simple tests and offers specific treatment.
