Anal Cancer: Estimated new cases and deaths from anal cancer in the United States in 2012: new cases: 6, 230; deaths: 780. Incidence rate was 1.6 per 100, 000 men and women per year. For example, 0.06% of men will develop cancer of the anus, anal canal, and anorectum between their 50th and 70th birthdays compared to 0.09% for women. Hpv is the leading cause and is detected in the majority of anal cancers.
