Unclean: Other than contaminated water, that may not be sage to drink, there is no particular safety issue associated with water.

Contamination: Ones that are contaminated by chemicals, bacteria, waste products, etc. In other words, water that isn't purified. If you're out in the ocean by yourself and treading water, that would also be a concern.
