Venom reactions: Swelling at site of sting is normal and improves with cold pack and antihistamine. If symptoms however, include breathing difficulty, light headed, vomiting/abdominal pain, hives all over, then treatment should be given in the er and consult by allergist. Allergy testing is available for venoms to various insects (bee, yellow jacket, wasp, hornet) but reserved for those with serious reactions.
