Yes: Either schedule should correct the deficiency. You will need a serum 25ohd measurement every month to determine when you are normal. Then the dose should be reduced.

Yes- DON'T TAKE D2! : The 50, 000 unit dose of vit d is the prescription form, vitamin d2. Research has shown this type may do more harm than good! any doc who prescribes it is not informed of the research. I advise that most adults take vitamin d3, 5-8000 units/day to achieve optimal levels, but 10, 000 is safe.
