Multifactorial: Causes of depression can be multifactorial such as : having a family history , brain chemistry changes, medical illnesses (i.E thyroid disease), side effects from medications, major life stressors, substance use/abuse and history of abuse/trauma. Fatigue can come from brain chemical changes (i.e. Less dopamine) and the stress of the depression itself on the body.
