Decrease sxs: Omega- 3 fatty acids or magnesium (supplementation or through diet) with dr ok. Discuss use of herbal like black cohosh with your dr. Sipping chamomile & green tea can dissipate pain. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol & salt. Nsaid’s, warm bath, heating pad & acupuncture are excellent for dysmenorrhea. Get gyn eval – check magnesium & iodine level & r/o pathology.

Ibuprofen and naproxen are over the counter meds that target the prostaglandins.They have been used for decades for menstrual symptoms.They can be effective when started the day before and continued until the end of flow.
