Very common: Many intestinal viruses and other illnesses can be accompanied by fever. How to respond, depends on how high the fever is and how bad the abdominal pain is. This could be anything from malignancy, to appendicitis to mild intestinal flu. If the fever is high, the pain severe, or the symptoms do not fade in a few days you will need to see a health care provider.
