See answer: If Elogen contains an estrogen and progesterone(combined oral contraceptive) you can use it fairly safely to age 50-55, but their IS a small risk of heart attack or stroke.The progesterone only pill(POP) has no age limit and NO risk for heart or stroke. POP can also be used if diabetic or increased BP. **The copper IUD is the safest contraceptive, especially if history of DVT, stroke heart disease
