Dry eye syndrome: The most common cause of watery eyes is dry eye syndrome. It seems paradoxical, but what happens is this. The eye is chronically dry and makes a flood of tears. Try using some over the counter artificial tears two to four times per day. If this does not help, then make an appointment with an ophthalmologist (eye md) who can evaluate and treat your watery eyes.
