A member asked:

Does the hypoglcaemia test differ from normal blood sugar test or is it the same?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There is no: Hypoglycemia test. A glucose tolerance test is inappropriately done when hypoglycemia is suspected, but it is not a valid test for hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is vanishingly rare if someone who is not on diabetes medication, or doesn't have cancer, end-stage renal or liver disease, or prior GI surgery. It's just that you're overweight, Insulin resistant, and your elevated glucose returning to normal.
