Neck swelling: A numer of condition cause neck masses, swelling, or limps. Lymph nodes are all over the neck, enlarge to help fight local infections. Thyroglossal cysts can get infected, small lump becoming larger and tender. Goiter, swelling of the thyroid, can get very large. Thyroid and cancer in the lymph nodes, and other sources of swelling are possible. Get any swelling checked by your doctor.
