The febrile response: Can be controlled with several over the counter antipyretics. Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen are most commonly used in kids. Adults may use aspirin. Steroids such as Prednisone are potent antipyretic agents that can be prescribed by a physician. Supportive measures like cool clothes can also provide relief. But be certain the fever is not a sign of something more serious. Consult your dr. W/ concerns.
