Boils: These are usually localized infections with bacteria, commonly staph aureus. They may persist for lengthy time periods if not drained. Applying frequent wet heat to these will help bring them to a head, but recurrence is not uncommon unless the nasal carriage state and skin contamination issues are addressed.
