A member asked:

Does paronychia usually cause many symptoms, such as bad infections?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Localized: Paronychia is a localized infection of the nail fold and is treatable with topical medications. If persistent oral antifungals can be used. The residual swelling can be treated with intralesional kenalog (triamcinolone) once infection resolves.
