Severe left ear pressure&pain for a week. doc says no infection. tube put in and removed b/c symptoms worse. what causes ear pressure& pain this bad?

Otitis?: Infection is the most common cause of middle ear pain. Rarely, viral infections such as shingles can cause such pain. See an ENT doctor if not better.

L ear pain/pressure: It is difficult to speculate on what may be causing the severe ear pain and pressure you are experiencing without a detailed history and physical exam. I imagine that despite no ear infection on visual exam, a complete head and neck exam and comprehensive hearing test was done in the course of your evaluation.
You may want to consider seeing an otologist for further assessment.
