Can you wear contacts after a trabectome procedure for glaucoma?

Try it out: With a trabectome you have a small bleb on the white part of the eye which is an elevated area serving as a reservoir to collect the fluid that is draining from the front chamber of the eye. If your contact is comfortable you can wear it, but if there is any irritation then don't. If your eye is at all red or uncomfortable then don't wear it. Make sure you have a smallish diameter lens.

Yes, once healed: The trabectome procedure, unlike a trabeculectomy does not produce a bleb as the entire procedure is done internally, inside the eye with no external drainage opening. Therefore, once your eye is healed, there is no contraindication to wearing contact lenses.
