Elective cesarean: Despite acog recommendations, the decision to have a vaginal birth vs. Cesarean is between you and your obstetrician and sometimes with the policy makers at your OB doctors hospital. Not every OB dept. Is keen on elective cesarean. And some OB docs don't feel comfortable with it either. In addition, your insurance company may opt our of paying for a cesarean that is purely elective.
