Many possibilities: Upper abdominal pain is non-specific but there are several possible causes. The organs of the upper abdomen include liver, gallbladder, stomach, duodenum, pancreas, adrenals, spleen and parts of the intestine. Also, the upper parts of the kidneys. So, any of these organs that experience infection, injury, cancer, or blockage can cause pain. With nausea/burning, focus on stomach (reflux)/ulcers.
