Drive: You can drive after the mammogram. ...Assuming you could drive before =p you can bring a friend for moral support if you want; some nervous patients do that.

Take a friend: You don't need to, but what the heck, take a friend, go to lunch, enjoy some time off. You won't be given meds, so you won 't be groggy. But your breasts may be sore. Take some advil or tylenol (acetaminophen) before you go.

Not needed: Generally after a screening mammogram a woman can resume her usual activities including driving. In case of extreme anxiety it might be better to have another person with you for support.

If you want to: Bring someone if you want, but it is not necessary. It will be perfectly fine to drive and resume normal activity afterwards.
