Lining of uterus: The shredded uterus inner lining called endometrium could be the white stuff you saw. Menstruation is otherwise called bloody tears of a disappointed uterus , when conception doesn't happen as each cycle the uterus gets prepared under the female hormone influence for conception. Unless you have chances of pregnancy i think it is the mucosa; layer of uterus appearing in menstrual blood.
