Forgetfulness: Being exposed to new intellectual challenges ( things that we do not do rutinilly) help the brain to make new connections. In terms of medicines our current meds for alzheimer's may be tried even if there is doubt or certainty about the diagnosis. No natural product has been found to be useful in serious studies. Some of them are based on phosphorus, glutamic acid, caffeine, vasodilators etc.

Depends: What do you mean by loss of memory? Short term memory lapses (inability to remember a phone number)? Forgetfulness (losing or misplacing things)? Not knowing your spouse's name? Not knowing time related things (day of week, whether of not you had breakfast)? All of these examples reflect different problems all of which depend on age, health, education, vocation, medication use. See your md.
