A member asked:

Is an allergy test required when you have eczema?

No, usually not: Many people have some eczema, and only a few need allergy testing. Those that get allergy testing may include people with known allergies to other things already, people who get the same rash or reaction each time they eat or touch a certain item, people with family members who have rashes associated with allergies, etc... Most people with eczema just treat the eczema, without allergy testing.

Identify triggers: Allergy skin testing can help determine if you have any food or inhalant allergies which may make eczema worse.
