3-4 days: If the quarter made it into the stomach without difficulty, it may pass through. The general transit time for a kid is up to 3-4 days. If you get tired of looking for it in the stool, the doc can verify that it has passed either by passing a metal detector over the abdomen or having a simple abdominal x-ray done.
