Residual effect: Most commonly, when someone has a gastroenteritis ("stomach flu"), the intestines temporarily lose the components that help break down lactase, so it is common to get cramps, etc with dairy foods. May take several days up to few weeks to resolve- the body need to rebuild this function. Take it easy, avoid dairy, consider lactase supplements. If not better or worsens, see doc.
