A 24-year-old member asked:
What kind of complications might happen from a chest ct scan with dye?
1 doctor answer • 3 doctors weighed in
Specializes in Gastroenterology
Allergy: The main risk is concern for an allergic reaction to the contrast dye. Damage to the kidney is also a big concern. The good thing is that the kidney can usually recover from this on its own with IV fluids and careful observation.

Chest CT: Including but not limited to:

4) Chronic lung disease/fibrosis of some other cause,
5) Cardiovascular abnormalities.
Basically there are lots of reasons depending on your history or symptoms.
