A member asked:

Hiv like virus is found in some species ?are all species having some kind of hiv?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HIV: Retroviruses similar to HIV have been isolated from simians (monkeys, chimps, etc.) are called siv, and are the likely source of hiv. There are other retroviruses, and although could not cite specific examples, would be very surprised if they were not found in other animals.
