Umbilical hernia: If the pain is located in the abdominal wall next to your umbilicus (belly button) it is most likely to be a small hernia, though many intraabdominal conditions may begin with pain referred to the umbilicus, including (but not limited to) appendicitis, typhlitis, enteritis, ovarian cysts to name a few. If the pain persists or becomes severe, seek immediate attention.
