No: Oxygen therapy is only used in patients with advanced bronchiectasis who have difficulty maintaining normal oxygen saturations. To prevent cough in patients with bronchiectasis, it is important to remove the excess mucus from the airways by use of mucolytic therapies (inhaled hypertonic saline) & physical techniques to mobilize the mucus (chest vest, acapella, flutter etc.). Talk to a lung doc.
