Mixed diet: Food is not likely to hasten recovery, but a healthy diet will ensure timely healing. Have a diet with sufficient protein, calcium and vitamin d. In general a diet of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, low fats milk products; limit intake of saturated fats; no tobacco and no more than one drink a day. As soon as possible start aerobic exercise. Consult you doctor to ensure no infection.

Eat real food: The best nutrition for overall health will help you recover from injuries too. Look into paleo or primal diets - basically limit your carbohydrate intake (no more than 50-100 grams per day) eat plenty of healthy fats (about 50% of your calorie intake) and most importantly don't eat processed foods. Organic matters and is worth the extra money.
