Probably normal: Changes in menstrual cycles can occur after a pregnancy as the body adjusts to the drop in hormones that occurs after delivery. In addition, the ovaries begin the process of readjusting to normal cycles unless hormonal birth control is used. Some periods get lighter after pregnancy and some get heavier. Normal length of bleeding for menses is 2-7 days in most women.
