What is a ct cystogram?

Cystogram: A cystogram is an x-ray of the bladder taken following instillation of iodine contrast into the bladder via catheter. A ct cystogram is the same but uses cat scan rather than plain x-ray for more detailed imaging.

Two ways: Sometimes, if there is concern for bladder injury, a catheter is placed in bladder and the bladder is filled with contrast prior to ct. However, it can also be done with a high dose contrast ct protocol. The contrast is given IV and ct images of kidneys, ureter and bladder are then obtained.
