Antibiotics: Many broad spectrum antibiotics can cause diarrhea by wiping out your normal bowel flora of helpful bacteria. Try active culture yogurt or acidophylis pills to replace the good bacteria. If symptoms are severe or persist, get checked for the more serious c. Difficile infection as soon as possible.

It probably is: Just about any antibiotic can cause diarrhea. If the diarrhea gets worse or is associated with abdominal pain or fever get checked out for clostridium difficile overgrowth colitis. It has been shown that probiotics like vsl#3 help prevent antibiotic associated diarrhea and c. Difficile disease when taken with antibiotics.
