Diverticulosis: Uncomplicated diverticulosis usually is asymptomatic, but some patients do experience cramps and tenderness in the affected areas. However, you should see your provider for advice, since the symptoms you describe can be caused by a more serious condition. For instance, occasionally the diverticula, or little pockets in your colon, can become infected causing diverticulitis requiring treatment.
