Dr. Steven Koos answered

Specializes in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Temporal Styloid : Depends on whether classic eagle's syndrome for or if vascular form. A partial styloidectomy is performed for either, which is within the scope of an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, or an ent. If there is carotid artery involvement, then a vascular surgeon should be in on the case - if there is any potential threat to the carotid needing repair. Can be approached intraorally or cutaneously.
