A member asked:

Why is weightloss injections b12(1cc)&hcg(half cc) bad or unsafe(without 500calorie plan;just a reg weightloss prog), &what r the side effects?

Scam: I expect that even the physicians at healthtap who are most sympathetic to the supplement industry would encourage you to follow a regular weight loss program and spent the extra money you'd be paying for the HCG and B12 on a gym membership or something fun with the great people you'll meet there. Physical exercise normalizes your appetite & is the key to weight management.

It is safe: The HCG diet requires strict adherence to the original 500 calorie diet in order to work the way it is supposed to. It is very difficult to stay on 500 calories a day without the aid of hcg. Plus the HCG allows for ketosis which uses abnormal fat as its primary fuel source, so you lose 1-2 pounds of fat per day. The B12 gives more energy, which is why it is sometimes added to the mix.
