Gustatory Rhinitis: Runny nose during or after eating is more common with spicy, hot or cold foods. The treatment that usually works beest (besides giving up those foods) is a prescription of ipratropium or Atrovent Nasal Spray used before eating. This is a prescription medication so talk to your doctor about it.

Histamine: When you eat, your stomach produces histamine to help stimulate gastric acid production. This same histamine is what causes allergy symptoms, and is typically treated with an anti-histamine. If the symptoms are bad enough, you can pre-medicate with an anti-histamine before meals, as long as there are no contraindications, such as pregnancy or glaucoma.
