A member asked:

Is there a urine, blood or saliva test to check adrenaline levels - my doc prescribed 10mg amitriptaline for better sleep but w/o checking anything?

Avoid sleeping pills: We do not normally measure adrenaline. If symptoms are of anxiety (fear, panic, tremor, sweating, fast heart, etc) and insomnia then there are lots of treatments, including amitriptyline. But best to focus on non-drug interventions for sleep (see: http://goo.Gl/jcscx) and anxiety (see: http://goo.Gl/aibdp). If these fail, then there are very effective psychological treatments too. Good luck!
